Nelsonville's Historic Square Arts District has been recognized by art enthusiasts across the nation as an art lover's paradise.
Just over seven years ago the storefronts in Nelsonville's Historic Public Square stood empty. Today dozens of studio galleries, antique stores, and gift shops line the streets. All feature the work of area artisans whom you can usually watch making art on the spot. Feeling creative? Sign up for a workshop, demonstration or private lesson.
Final Fridays on the Square
On the final Friday of every month (excluding December), galleries and retail shops on Nelsonville's Historic Square stay open late for one of the town's most beloved arts events.
Nelsonville Main Street
In 2009 Nelsonville was selected to become a member of Heritage Ohio's Main Street Program. This program focuses on preserving the historical and cultural heritage of small towns across the state.
