Our vision is to maintain the Athena Cinema as the premiere art-house cinema in the region, showcasing the latest in independent and international film: movies that come from all over the world, from young artists and established auteurs; from quirky independent visionaries and masters of world cinema. These are the movies we love, and the movies we will be sharing with you.
We vow to help maintain and build an engaged film culture here in Athens, and involve every element of our community: students and community members and regional neighbors; professors and shopkeepers and service workers.
The Athena Cinema is your cinema, and it provides an intersection for all film lovers, film makers, artists, students, and occasional film goers to meet and engage with movies that make us laugh, cry, ponder, and question -- movies that help us all to better know our world, our neighbors, and ourselves.
