Ohio Smoked Meat and Barbecue Festival

The Ohio Smoked Meat & BBQ Festival is Ohio’s oldest cook-off officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and offers $10,000 in cash prizes with an opportunity for winners in various categories to represent the state at other KCBS contests. Entries are judged in chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket categories and contestants must enter these four categories to be eligible for grand champion status. A dessert category has been added but does not impact the overall contest. A variety of vendors will be selling food and drinks during the competition.

A special “best of" competition open to the general public is scheduled. While Saturday’s competitors fire up their grills in readiness for the state championship, locals in the “best of competition” will compete in hamburger, pork ribs and dessert contests. Cost to enter each contest is $20.00 or all three for $50.00.
