Quilts, clay pots and paintings decorate our library for the month of February. Two local artists show their Appalachian creativity: eighty-four year old Mary Deloris (Wood) King, a master quilter; and Carmen Schultz, a master potter and landscape painter. On display in the circulation area are Mary King’s hand quilted masterpieces. Mary King has hand quilted 125 quilts since 1993.  To complement the quilts, beautiful hand-made pottery by Carmen Schultz is in the display cases. In addition, Carmen’s distinct style of pottery is reflected in her landscape paintings which is in the small meeting room.
