The Indian Mound Festival, sponsored by The Plains Lions Club will be held Oct. 4-6, at The Plains Community Park on Connett Road in The Plains.


The Indian Mound Festival, sponsored by The Plains Lions Club, will be held at The Plains Community Park located on Connett Road in The Plains.

There will be a Cruise-in, karaoke contest, Indian Mound tours (“Wolfe Plains Mound Group”), kid’s games, magic shows, live musci, arts & crafts, food booths and much more.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 

Friday, Oct. 3, 2014

5:00-10:00pm - Arts, Crafts & all food vendors open

5:00-9:00pm - Registration for car show/cruise in at The Plains Elementary
                      (Parking Lot across from park entrance)
                      Old-time rock and roll music by STAR Entertainment
                      Door Prizes and mini trophies for all entries
  

6:00-7:00pm - Brave & Princess contestant introductions, Queen contestants evening gown presentation, Community Park stage area 

7:00-11:00pm - Karaoke contest - First place $100.00 prize

7:00am - Boy Scouts breakfast begins 

7:30am-4:00pm - Apple butter stir and sales at The Plains Methodist Church

9:00am - Arts, Crafts & all food vendors open

9:00am - NASP Archery tournament atThe Plains Elementary school

9:00am-5:00pm - Music by STAR Entertainment

10:00am-6:00pm - Mound tours/hay rides - all day on the hour

                              (“Wolfe Plains Mound Group” Late Adena Mounds)

                               Historical display - Jerry Beckley

                               Flint Napping

                               Archery trailer - supplied by ODNR

                               Atlatl (spear) contests

                               Horse drawn wagon rides

9:30am and 10:00am - Judging of Queen/Brave and Princess Contests at The Plains Nazarene Church

11:00am - Children's games and activities begin; jumping castle opens

11:30am - Lunch served at all food vendors,

                 Ham & Beans served at Boy Scout Trailer

12:00pm - Children's tractor pull  on The Main Stage

1:00pm - Magic show & balloon animals on the main stage

2:00pm - Line dancing on Main Stage by The Adena Dream Catchers and Silver Spurs

9:00am - Arts, Crafts & all food vendors open

9:00am-5:00pm - Music by STAR Entertainment

10:30am - Church Service on the Main Stage, The Plains Nazarene Church

11:00am-4:00pm - Historical display - Jerry Beckley

                               Flint Napping

                               Atlatl (spear) contests

                               Horse drawn wagon rides

 

11:00am - Visiting Royalty luncheon at Athens High School Cafeteria

11:30am - Gospel music hosted by The Plains Nazarene Church

12:00 & 3:00pm - Mound tours/hay rides - (“Wolfe Plains Mound Group” Late Adena Mounds)

12:00pm - Children's games and activities begins; Jumping castle opens

12:30pm - Parade line up at Athens High School parking lot

2:00pm - Parade begins at Athens High School and ends at the Community Park

2:45pm - Queen, Brave & Princess winners announced and Royalty introduced, Special Recognition for exceptional community service; all on Main Stage 

3:15pm - Children's Carnival at The Plains Methodist Church

5:00pm - Clean Up and THANKS to all that helped make the Festival a success
