Are you passionate about local foods? Whether you are a farmer, processor, involved with farmers or retail markets, a food entrepreneur, advocate or consumer, our May conference will whet your appetite with fresh ideas, proven approaches, great connections, and plenty of interaction and fun.
Come discover a mature and collaboratively evolving Appalachian local food system and the many people and organizations that contribute to its vibrancy. You can view our full conference schedule HERE.
The conference is preceded by three Intensives on Tuesday, May 14th. These four hour sessions allow enough time to delve into the topics and for lively exchanges. Spaces are limited.
On Wednesday, May 15th we'll convene our three day conference at Eclipse Company Town's Company Store, just outside of Athens. This historic former coal mining settlement is now home to several businesses and residences. Each day we will offer workshops, panel discussions, speakers, and delicious locally sourced lunches provided by our hosts, Kiser’s Barbeque at Eclipse. Lunches are included in your registration fee. We will also host three off site tours and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Happy Hour networking in Uptown Athens bars and eateries.
