Each year, we award thousands of dollars in grants to promote the creation or expansion of special events, projects, and programs to bring visitors to Athens County. This funding is for non-profit tourism attractions and organizations for assistance with their marketing, promotion and advertising efforts.
Competition for our grants is fierce, so consideration goes first to new and expanded events, projects or programs that attract visitors from at least 100 miles away and/or attract overnight visitors to Athens County.
The deadline to submit 2012 Tourism Grant Applications was February 10, 2012.
Applicants will be notified of the committee's decisions in March.
