The Athens Arts Parks and Recreation Department maintains over 260 acres of land in 7 different locations, oversees many diverse facilities, and provides programs for all ages and interests.

The park system operates and maintains the following: the award-winning Athens Community Center, the City Pool, our nationally recognized Skate Park, Dog Park, Sells Park trails and nature preserve, 4 tennis courts, 14 outdoor basketball courts, 10 baseball/softball fields, 5 soccer fields, putt-putt course, two horseshoe pits, two miles of paved bike path, 2 sand volleyball courts, 6 shelter houses, 4 park restroom facilities, and many playgrounds.
