At Restaurant Salaam, we feature global cuisine, but use local ingredients whenever possible in our menu items and specials.  These include dairy products from Snowville Creamery (including using Snowville milk to make all of our yogurt and paneer); produce from Shade River Organic Farm, greens from Green Edge Gardens, pastry flour for our desserts from Ohio wheat milled by Keynes Brothers Mill in Logan, Ohio; eggs from the Hanesworth Farm; Athens Own Dawn Chorus coffee roasted in Gallipolis, Ohio by Silver Bridge Coffee; and produce from the Chesterhill Produce Auction

Monday and Tuesday:

Black Turtle Bean Dal

A common vegan Indian staple dish, with a local twist: beans from Shagbark Seed and Mill Company and vegetables from Shade River Farms and the Chesterhill Produce Auction

 

Wednesday and Thursday:

Mediterranean Spelt Salad

A lovely cold salad of spelt berries from Shagbark Seed and Mill, goat cheese from Integration Acres, microgreens from Green Edge Gardens, fresh herbs from our rooftop garden, and garden vegetables from Shade River and the Chesterhill Produce Auction

 

Friday and Saturday:

Rustic Tomato Stew

A lovely Tuscan-style dish, packed with flavor from local tomatoes from Chesterhill, our own roof-grown basil, and croutons of our housemade bread


Open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 2pm

Dinner every night from 5:30 to 9:30pm
