Cycling on the bricks of Nelsonville… what a great way to gear up for summer.

The Nelsonville Area Chamber of Commerce and Rocky Outdoor Gear Store present the 1st Annual Starbrick Criterium on June 1, 2008.

It’s an exciting day of races and events for cyclists, enthusiasts, families, and spectators. There truly is something for everyone, regardless of age or skill level.

EVENTS:

• Races for every level
• A bicycle safety clinic
• Free helmet give-away for young riders

Frankie Andreu

One of the most popular and well-respected names in American professional cycling, Frankie Andreu will announce the events and be around to sign autographs.

Frankie competed in the Tour de France nine times and was on Lance Armstrong’s team five of the seven times Lance won. He also placed high in World Cup events, World Championships, Spring Classics, and two Olympic Games: 1988 placing 8th and 1996 placing fourth in Atlanta. Learn more about Frankie.

Hayden Godfrey

Another cycling pro will be joining us this year too, only he'll be setting the pace in the pro's race! Godfrey recently won the gold medal of the world track cycling championships on March 30^th by winning a five-event omnium, held in Manchester, England.  Learn more about Hayden.
